To determine how towing a 10,000-pound trailer will impact the performance of an electric vehicle, Ford put the F-150 Lightning through its paces in two locations with harsh weather conditions: the Gauntlet pass in Colorado and the Davis Dam. To preserve the life of the battery pack in electric vehicles, the charging process gradually slows down as the battery gets full.
